When it comes to fitness motivation, women and men are in the same boat. A high percentage of people have trouble being consistent about exercising and improving their fitness. Of course, and there are those who seem able to motivate themselves without much difficulty. Even among fitness fanatics, however, motivation can fluctuate and sometimes workouts become uphill battles. Luckily, there is a way to play the mental motivation game that can help you to keep moving forward. The three fitness motivation strategies we'll be looking at here are particularly good for women.

You may want to consider a different approach if you find it increasingly challenging to maintain your forward momentum. Try setting up a performance based reward system for yourself. Look at it as positive reinforcement. Treating yourself to a healthy reward for completing your entire workout routine as planned is a good example. A possible reward is to stop by a healthy sports drink bar for a delicious treat. If you reach your workout goal, you could indulge in a nice hot bubble bath that evening. Be creative with your rewards and stick with them for meeting performance goals.
