Because a healthy diet is essential to any fitness program, you will hinder your progress by not improving your diet.

You will feel sluggish most of the time if you eat mostly junk food and sweets. Your exercises won't help you lose as much, if any, weight if you continue eat this way. This isn't because the exercises aren't effective but you need to balance it with a healthy diet.
